Required personal information

When using TripIt, you may receive a prompt to verify your personal information. This includes your first name, last name, home city, and your date of birth as they appear on your travel documents. We use this information to verify your identity, and to ensure that TripIt is in compliance with global trade laws. It is important that you provide full and accurate information*, or there is a risk that your account could become blocked.  We will never sell your personal data and are committed to protecting your privacy. For more information, please reference the TripIt Privacy Policy.


*Note: TripIt does not allow members to use pseudonyms, fake names, business names, associations, groups, email addresses, or special characters that do not reflect accurate information as stated in our User Agreement


How to update your name or home city

If you need to update your name or home city due to a name change or move, you can find this information stored on the Account tab of the app under Personal Information. From our new web experience, you can update it in Profile and from our legacy site you can update it in About you.


How to update your date of birth

There isn't an option to update your date of birth once it's been added to TripIt. If you entered an incorrect date, please reach out to our support team here.


How to update your first and/or last name if it is one character long

Please contact our support team here to have this updated.


Issues filling out “Confirm your Info” form

Please contact TripIt support here.


Risk of providing false information

Users providing false information are in breach of our User Agreement and could lose access to their account.
