If the wrong times are displayed in your calendar, it's usually due to two reasons:
1. You need to adjust 'Automatically adjust time zones'.
If you're using Google calendar, floating time zones are currently not supported so you'll want to enable 'Automatically adjust time zones'. This does mean that your calendar will convert all event times to your current time zone setting. However, if you change your calendar's settings when you travel to reflect the local time zone, these items will show up in the correct time slot once you're in those locations.
If you're using another calendar, you'll want to disable 'Automatically adjust time zones' if you don't change your calendar's time zone settings when you travel. If you do change your calendar's time zone settings, be sure to enable 'Automatically adjust time zones'.
Here's how:
On the TripIt website
We've redesigned our web experience. You may still have the option to access your account from our legacy site so we've included instructions for both.
From our new web experience:
- Click the Profile icon (top right).
- Select 'Settings'.
- Click 'Calendar Feed' (left navigation bar) > Enable Display plans in local times.
From our legacy site:
- Click your user name (top right).
- Select 'Settings'.
- Click 'Publishing your Data' (left navigation bar) > Enable Automatically adjust time zones.
From our Android and iOS apps:
- Tap Account (bottom right).
- Tap Settings > Calendar Sync.
- Adjust the Auto Adjust Time Zones toggle.
Please note:
- If you change your calendar feed's settings it may take some time for your calendar app to update its cached feed data.
- You can force your calendar's cache to clear by refreshing your feed's URL. Please view our Refresh your calendar feed help page for instructions. After refreshing, resubscribe to the new URL, wait 15 minutes, and your calendar should be updated.
2. Make sure your plans have the right location.
When TripIt imports a travel plan to plans@tripit.com, we use the item address to map the location and place its time zones. If the location or time zones are not correct in nearly all cases you can fix the problem by adding at minimum the city and country. If you have it, the street addresses is preferable.
