SAP Concur: Personal and business trips

Modified on Wed, Sep 13, 2023 at 6:46 AM

Whether it’s a business trip, a family vacation, or a quick weekend away, TripIt will organize all your information in seconds.

When you connect your SAP Concur and TripIt accounts, trips added in Concur Travel are automatically synced to TripIt. When trips are added in TripIt, you can choose whether or not to automatically share these trips with your SAP Concur account.

How it works

You can customize which trips you want to share from TripIt to SAP Concur for every email address within your TripIt account. When Share Plans with Concur is turned on (default setting) for a specific email address, all travel plans added to TripIt from that email address will be automatically shared with SAP Concur. You can turn automatic sharing off if you would prefer to not share your TripIt plans with SAP Concur.

Benefits of automatically sharing plans with SAP Concur

Sharing your business trips with SAP Concur saves you time by helping you get your expense reports started. Once a travel plan has been added to your TripIt account, a note will be created in Concur Expense reminding you about the expense.

Personal trips

You can enjoy the benefits of TripIt Pro beyond your business trips when you use TripIt to organize personal trips. Since you’ve connected your TripIt account to your SAP Concur profile, you’ll want to make sure personal trips don’t flow into Concur Travel.

How to update this email setting

From our Android/iOS apps

  1. Open the TripIt app and tap the Account tab.
  2. Tap your name (top of page).
  3. Tap the email address you want to update.
  4. Adjust the Share Plans with SAP Concur toggle.

From our website

  1. Sign into your account on the TripIt website.
  2. Click the triangle to the right of your user name (top right) > Settings > Email Settings.
  3. Select which email address you want to update in the Share Plans with SAP Concur section.

Please note

  • Within your TripIt account, each email address is configured to 'Share Plans with SAP Concur' or not. When you forward a confirmation email to plans@tripit.com from an email address set to automatically share with SAP Concur, it will only import into an existing trip (with overlapping dates) which is also set to share with SAP Concur. Otherwise a new trip is created. The same logic applies to an email address set to ‘Not Share with SAP Concur’, it will not import into an existing trip which is 'Shared with SAP Concur.'
  • This email setting is not yet available in the new web experience, but will still be available as usual on the TripIt mobile app or by switching back to the Legacy site. You can switch back by clicking the ‘New website’ toggle in the upper right-hand corner of any page. We plan to keep adding to the new web experience, so you’ll see regular updates over time. This setting is only available on our mobile apps for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) accounts at this time.
