Seat Tracker

Use Seat Tracker to find a better seat on your flight.

TripIt Pro subscribers can use Seat Tracker to find a better seat or seats together on any valid upcoming flight. Seat Tracker will alert you if we find the seats you want so you can try to nab those seats before someone else does. Alerts can be received via email, SMS and push notifications.

How to set up a Seat Tracker alert:  

In the TripIt website:

1. Click on the flight (in blue text).
2. Click 'View up-to-date seat maps for this flight' in the TripIt Pro section.
3. Select your seat preferences (fare class, window or aisle, area of plan, etc.)
4. Make sure 'Seat Tracker Notifications' is turned on.

In the TripIt app:

1. Tap your flight > Select 'Seat Tracker'
2. Or from the 'Pro tab' > Select 'Seat Tracker'.
3. Tap 'Create an Alert' and choose your flight.
4. Select your seat preferences (fare class, window or aisle, area of plan, etc.)

Please note:

• Many airlines charge a service fee to change seats, so be sure to check with your carrier before rebooking! 
• Unfortunately you can't use Seat Tracker with flights we can't monitor or airlines that do not offer seat selection.
• You will also not be able to create a Seat Tracker alert within four hours of departure time. To change your seat close to departure, check in with your airline at the airport check-in desk or your gate.
