Trip sharing from our mobile apps

Share your trip or individual trip plans in the TripIt app.

Your trip details are private and only visible to you unless you choose to share them.

A. Private Invitation

Only you and the people you invite will. have access to your travel plans. The following permissions are available and can be updated at anytime: 

How to share a trip:

1. Open the TripIt app.
2. Select your trip trip and tap the share icon (Android)/(iOS).
3. Tap 'Invite' (first share option). 
   
4. Enter the email address of the person you want to share your trip with and select their permission (view, edit, or edit/traveling).
5. Tap 'Send'.

Please note, if you try to add someone to your trip and see the message below, it means your accounts are not compatible for trip sharing. We hope to be able to offer trip sharing between all accounts in the near future.  

Share individual trip plans or an entire itinerary by text, email or third party app.

This option is read-only and will not display the cost, confirmation number, frequent traveler number. It will also not add the trip to the recipient's TripIt account.

Here's how:

1. Open your trip and tap the share icon for Android/for iOS (top right).
2. Tap 'Send' (second share option). 
3. Select which trip plans you'd like to share then tap the blue check mark (bottom right).
4. Choose how you'd like to share your travel plans (email, SMS, Slack, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X, etc.).
