Point Tracker security question

Modified on Tue, Feb 24 at 11:49 AM

As an added layer of protection, some reward programs require their users to enter a security code.

The Point Tracker feature automatically updates your balances. Reward programs with multi-factor authentication (MFA) may require a security code or other prompt which you'll need to enter in Point Tracker to keep your reward programs up to date.

Here's how

TripIt website:

  1. Click the profile icon (top right).
  2. Select 'Account' > 'Point Tracker'.
  3. Click the program name (blue text)
  4. Enter your security code > 'Save'.

TripIt app:

  1. Tap the 'Pro' tab (bottom of screen).
  2. Select 'Point Tracker'.
  3. Tap 'Problem Accessing Account' located below the award program.
  4. Enter your security code > 'Save'.

Please note:

  • If you receive an email with a one-time code or a prompt for a response to a security question at a time when you are not trying to sign in directly to that supplier's site, enter this in Point Tracker through tripit.com or the TripIt app. Because updates may happen at any time of day, sometimes the one-time code provided by the supplier will have expired by the time you see it. If that occurs, you may have to wait for a new code during our next update.
  • Some programs may require you to answer multiple questions. If you see the security question alert again, follow the same steps above to access your account.
  • If you need to reset your security question or need assistance with your program sign-in credentials, please reach out to your reward program. TripIt cannot help you reset your reward-program credentials.
