Unable to merge your TripIt accounts

If you received an email titled 'Unable to merge your TripIt accounts', please read below:

Due to recent updates, some newly created accounts cannot be merged with an older one. If you'd still like both email addresses on the same account, the current best solution is to delete one account, then re-add that email address to the existing account. 

Please be advised that once an account is deleted, all associated trips with that account are also removed. Therefore, we recommend exercising caution when deleting an account. If you still wish to delete an account, we recommend deleting the account with the fewest trips (upcoming and past). 

1st step: Delete account

From our website:

1. Sign into the account you wish to delete.
2. Click the 'Profile' icon (top right).
3. Click 'Account and Security' > 'Manage Account'.
4. Scroll down and click 'Delete Account' and follow the steps to complete the process.

From the TripIt app:

1. Sign into the account you wish to delete.
2. Tap the 'Account' tab (bottom right).
3. Tap your name/email address (top of page).
4. Scroll down and tap 'Delete Account'and follow the steps to complete the process.

2nd step: Add the email address of deleted account to the remaining account

From our website:

1. Sign into the remaining account.
2. Click the 'Profile' icon (top right).
3. Select 'Account and Security' >'Manage Account'
4. Enter the email address from the account you just deleted.

From the TripIt app:

1. Sign into the remaining account.
2. Tap the 'Account' tab (bottom right).
3. Tap your name (top of page).
4. Tap 'Add another email address' and enter the email address from the account you just deleted.

• If you've forgotten the password to any of your accounts, click 'Forgot password?' from the sign-in page.
